PROCESS

Raupya pieces are heated till they turn red-hot. On heating, Raupya pieces are immediately dipped in each of the following; Tail (see glossary), Takra (buttermilk), Go-Mutra (cow's fresh urine), Kwaath (see glossary) prepared from Kulathi and Kaanji (see glossary). The process of heating Raupya and dipping in each of the above 5 elements is repeated 7 times to obtain Shudh (purified) Raupya.

NOTE

Rasratnasamucchay has mentioned the use of specific Kaanji preparation called Aarnaal. Aarnaal is prepared from Yav (barley).

Rasratnasamucchay does not specifically indiacte which Tail (oil) is to be used in the above process.
