Plant Description
An erect stout herb. Stems thickened at the nodes. Axillary branches reduced into sharp spines. Leaves in whorls of 6 at the nodes, oblong-lanceolate. Flowers in a whorl of 8, in 4 pairs at each node; purple-blue, sometimes pure white. Capsule linear-oblong, pointed.
Flowering & Fruiting Period: September-May.
