Sambar Lavan implies to salt procured from Sambhar Salt Lake, India's largest salt lake, sits 96 km south west of the city of Jaipur (Northwest India) and 64 km north east of Ajmer along the National highway 8 in Rajasthan. As from the description it is similar to common salt (NaCl) except for its geographical importance.SHODHAN OR AYURVEDA PURIFICATION PROCESS
No specific purification process for Sambar Lavan is found in Ayurveda treatise which may indicate that Sambar Lavan does not require to undergo specific purification process and can be directly used as medicine.
