PREPARATION
Shudh(purified) Vang 1 Tola is heated on flame. On melting Shudh Parad 1 Tola is added to Vang and constantly stirred till it blends. Abrakh Bhasma 1 Tola and Shudh Gandhak is added to the Parad-Vang mixture and blended to form Kajjali. The Kajjali is processed in Jambeer Swaras. On drying the mixture is rolled into a cake and given a Samanya-Put (see glossary). On cooling the mixture is again processed in Jambeer Swaras and given a Samanya-Put. This process is repeated 7 times. Finally the mixture is given 7 Bhavana (treatments) each with Kumari Swaras and Chitrak (Kwaath or Swaras). This formulation is called Chandroday Ras. Chandroday Ras on drying is stored for use.
Chandroday Ras - Ingredient Details
NOTE
- Kajjali prepared in the above formulation must adhere or comply with the Kajjali preparation description and standards as mentioned in various Ayurveda treatise.(see glossary)
- Certain Vaidyas use Vang Bhasma in place of Shudh Vang in above formulation. However a close look at the description given in Rasratnasamuchay denotes that the author has clearly stated to blend Parad and Vang before blending other ingredients which advocates the use of Shudh Vang as opposed to Vang Bhasma.
- Abrakh Bhasma Shat(100)-puti must be used in preparation of Chandroday Ras.
- 1 Tola approx. 11gm
