PREPARATION

Shudh(purified)Hingul , Shudh Gandhak, Shudh Tankan, Trikatu Churn and Marich Phal(Phal == Fruit) in equal proportions are pounded together to form coarse powder. This formulation is called Kaskuthar Ras. Kaskuthar Ras is filtered through a muslin cloth and stored.

NOTE

  • Kaskuthar preparation described by the treatise Rasrajsundar denotes the use of Marich Phal(Phal == Fruit) as an individual ingredient in addition to its presence in the compound formulation of Trikatu Churn. Secondly Rasrajsundar does not mention blending or treating of powdered ingredients with any herbal product. Kaskuthar Ras preparation is also mentioned in the treatise Rasayansaar which appears to be a more complete formulation(For details refer Kaskuthar Ras (Method 1) ).
