PREPARATION

Shudh(purified) Mauktik is soaked in fresh lime juice for 24 hours. After 24 hours Mauktik are dried, cleaned and pounded to form coarse-powder. The powder is filtered through a muslin cloth and transferred to a flat surface stone vessel. Mauktik powder is blended with fresh lime juice for one day. Next morning the mixture is blended with Gulaab-Jal or Chandanaadi-Ark for 7 continous days. to obtain Mauktik Pishti.

NOTE

  • Mauktik or Pearls are artificial and natural. Artificial pearls are considered ineffective as medicine and hence treatise recommend use of natural pearls to prepare Mauktik Bhasma

  • If Natural Mauktik (pearl) procured from Basara are used to prepare Mauktik Bhasma then the formulation is known as Mauktik Pishti no.1
