PREPARATION

Shudh (purified) Guggul 4 Tola is dissolved in water. Shudh Gandhak 4 Tola, Rassindoor 4 Tola, Loh Bhasma 4 Tola, Tamra Bhasma 4 Tola,Amalaki Phal 4 Tola, Bibhitak Phal 4 Tola, Haritaki Phal 4 Tola, Mahanimb Twak (Twak == Bark) 4 Tola, Chitrak 4 Tola,Shudh Shilajit 4parts, Karanj Beej (Beej == Seed) Churn 16 Tola and Abrakh Bhasma 16 Tola are pounded together to form a coarse powder and added to the Guggul mixed water and thoroughly blended. As the mixture attains solid form a paste prepared from Go-Ghrut and Madhu is added to the mixture and again blended till it gives a soft butter like appearance. This formulation is called Kushtkuthar Ras. Kushtkuthar Ras is then rolled into tablets each measuring 4Gunj (see glossary).

NOTE

  • Abrakh Bhasma Shat(100)-puti must be used in preparation of Kushtkuthar Ras.

  • Go-Ghrut and Madhu are taken in unequal proportions. For example; 2parts Go-Ghrut and 1part Madhu or vice versa.

  • Vaidyas (Ayurveda physicians) advise to store Kushtkuthar Ras in a vessel which is internally layered or plastered with Go-Ghrut

  • Kushtkuthar Ras is also known as Galatkushtaari Ras.
