Sarvangsundar Ras (Type 2)

PREPARATION

Shudh (purified) Parad 1 Tola and Shudh Gandhak 1 Tola are blended together to form Kajjali. Shudh Tankan 2 Tola, Mauktik Pishti 1 Tola, Praval Bhasma1 Tola, Shankh Bhasma 1 Tola and Swarn-Bhasma 6 Masha are mixed with the Kajjali to form a fine blend. The Kajjali-mixture is processed in Jambeer Swaras till a uniform blend is achieved. The mixture is rolled into a ball and transferred to an earthen vessel. The vessel is covered with another earthen vessel. Both the vessels are sealed with clay and given a Gajput (see glossary). On cooling the inner mixture is procured and Loh Bhasma 6 Masha and Shudh Hingul 3 Masha are mixed with and grinded to form a fine blend. This formulation is called Sarvangsundar Ras.

NOTE

  • Kajjali prepared in the above formulation must adhere or comply with the Kajjali preparation description and standards as mentioned in various Ayurveda treatise.(see glossary)

  • A formulation by the name of Sarvangsundar Ras is also described in the treatise Raschandanshu..However it is completely different with respect to ingredients and preparation method. (For details see Sarvangsundar Ras (Type 1))

  • 1 Tola approx. 11gm

  • 1 Masha approx 1gm.
