Sphatik-Shwet (White-coloured) Bhasm

PREPARATION

Shwet (White-coloured) Sphatik is cleaned and pounded into fine pieces.The pieces are transferred to an hollow earthen vessel which is sealed and roasted in Gajput (see glossary) to obtain white-coloured Sphatik Bhasma which gives a soft butter-like appearance.

NOTE

Many Vaidyas (Ayurveda physicians) heat Sphatik pieces in a vessel on which they intially swell and ultimately collapse to form Sphatik Bhasma.
