PREPARATION
Shudh (purified) Loh (any of the three varieties) is coarsely powdered and blended with Go-mutra (cow's urine) for an entire day and rolled into a cake. The cake on drying is given 3 Gajput (refer glossary). The process isr epeated by blending Loh with Triphala Kwaath(decoction), Kumari juice and Punarnava juice respectively and giving 3 Gajput each with each of the blend ingredients. After a total of 12 Gajput (3 each with Go-mutra, Triphala Kwaath, Kumaari juice and Punarnava juice) Loh Bhasma obtained is mixed with 1/12th its quantity of Hingul and blended with Ark-Ksheer (milky latex) and rolled into a cake. The cake on drying is given Ardh (half)-Gajput Gajput. Like this 8 Ardh-Gajput with Hingul are given to make a total of 16 Gajput (12 Gajput + 8 Ardh-Gajput(==4 Gajput)) to obtain Loh Bhasma.Loh(Tikshna, Kant, Mund Loh) Bhasma (Method 1) - Ingredient Details
NOTE
To test if Loh Bhasma is prepared correctly small amount of the end-product must be sprinkled over a cut Amalki (Phyllanthus emblica, Avala,Gooseberry) fruit. If the fruit pulp turns black then the Loh Bhasm is not correctly formed and can create health-problems. Correctly formed Loh Bhasma has no effect on Amalki pulp.
