Loh(Tikshna, Kant, Mund Loh) Bhasma (Method 4)
PREPARATION
Shudh (purified) Loh (any of three varities)is coarsely powdered and mixed with equal proportion of Navsagar. The mixture is wrapped in a muslin cloth and soaked in boiling water for 4-5 hours. The muslin cloth bag is then vigorously rubbed between hands to obtain Loh-Bhasm.

NOTE
To test if Loh Bhasma is prepared correctly small amount of the end-product must be sprinkled over a cut Amalki (Phyllanthus emblica, Avala,Gooseberry) fruit. If the fruit pulp turns black then the Loh Bhasm is not correctly formed and can create health-problems. Correctly formed Loh Bhasma has no effect on Amalki pulp.
