The botanical identity of the classical Ayurveda plants Karchur and Shatiis co-related with different species. As per available description in Ayurveda literature both Kachora and Shati show similar medicinal properties. As far as morphological description is concerned both the plants are described on similar lines. Hence any of the plant species discussed below can be accepted as the source of Kachora and Shati. This is the primary reason to group these plants together to avoid confusion. Further investigation on discussed points is required.NOTE
