ABOUT

Gorechan (Go== Cow, Rechan == Biliary secretions) implies to bile stones formed in cow or bull, more generally the cow. The word Rechan in ayurveda terminology generally denotes laxation. However the concepts of Ayurveda define normal Rechan as a process brought about byPrakrut Pittstrava (proper secretion of Bile juices). Hence Gorechan simply means Cow's bile. Gorechan is yellow in colour and has a strong smell.Gorechan obtained from black-coloured cow is considered highly medicinal followed by red coloured cow.

SHODHAN OR AYURVEDA PURIFICATION PROCESS

No specific purification process for Gorechan is found in Ayurveda treatise which may indicate that Gorechan does not require to undergo specific purification process and can be directly used as medicine. However if Gorechan is contaminated with dust or other foreign particles it is advisable to filter them out.
