Sootikabharan Ras

PREPARATION

Shudh (purified) Parad 1 Tola and Shudh Gandhak 1 Tola are blended together to form Kajjali. Swarn Bhasma 1 Tola, Raupya Bhasma 1 Tola, Tamra Bhasma 1 Tola, Praval Bhasma 1 Tola, Abrakh Bhasma 1 Tola, Shudh Hartaal Bhasma 1 Tola, Shudh Mansheel Bhasma 1 Tola, Trikatu Churn 3 Tola and Kutki Churn 1 Tola are mixed with the Kajjali to form a fine blend. The Kajjali mixture is processed with the following Bhavana-Dravya(Items used for treating the formulation); Ark-Ksheer (Ksheer == Milky Latex), Kwaath prepared from Chitrak and Kwaath prepared from Punarnava; till a uniform blend is achieved. The mixture is rolled into a cake and layered 7 times with cloth plastered with wet-mud/clay. The mixture is then given a Gajput(see glossary). On cooling the cloth is removed and inner mixture procured and pounded into a fine powder. This formulation is called Sootikabharan Ras.

NOTE

    li>Abrakh Bhasma Shat(100)-puti must be used in preparation of Sootikabharan Ras.
  • Kajjali prepared in the above formulation must adhere or comply with the Kajjali preparation description and standards as mentioned in various Ayurveda treatise.(see glossary)
