Balark Ras (Method 1) - Ingredient Details

NOTE

  • Certain Vaidyas (Ayurveda Physicians) use Praval Pishti in place of Praval Bhasma for preparation of Balark Ras.

  • Vaidyas (Ayurveda Physicians) advocate the use of Jasad Bhasma if Shudh Kharpar is unavailable.

  • The plant Brahmi is confused for different species. Hence both the two prominent species Centella asiatica Linn. and Bacopa monnieri Linn. are used by certain Vaidyas while preparing Balark Ras

  • Aushadhigundharmshastra has given certain variations in preparation of Balark Ras. It mentions the use of Shwet-Marich(The seeds of Shobanjan (Moringa oleifera) are called Shwet Marich or white variety of pepper) in place of Gorechan. Subsequently it also does not mention the processing with Brahmi Swaras and advocates to simply blending the ingredients with water.
