Sarvangsundar Ras (Type 1)

PREPARATION

Shudh (purified) Parad 1 Tola and Shudh Gandhak 1 Tola are blended together to form Kajjali. The Kajjali is transferred to iron vessel filled with Go-Ghrut(Go-Ghrut == Cow's ghee or butter). The iron vessel is heated on flame. As Go-Ghrut melts due to increasing heat ,the entire contents of the iron vessel are immediately spread over a spread Kadali (Kadali == Musa paradisca (Banana)) leaf (Banana leaf must be placed over a bed prepared by layering cow-dung). Instantly another Kadali leaf is placed over the former leaf and the upper leaf is pressed uniformly in a unidirectional way.(Hands must be moved in a manner mimicking an ironing press.). The upper leaf is then removed and inner formed Parpati is procured. Jaatiphal 1 Tola, Jaatipatra (Leaves of Jaatiphal are known as Jaatipatra) 1 Tola, Lavang 1 Tola, Ela 1 Tola, Arishtak Patra (Patra == Leaf) 1 Tola and Nirgundi Patra 1 Tola are added to Parpati and pounded to form a fine blend. The mixture is then filled inside Mauktik-Shauktik (Mauktik-Shauktik == Pear shells) and cooked through the Putpaak (see glossary) Method(The Mauktik-Shauktik is layered 7 times with cloth plastered with wet-mud/clay. The Mauktik-Shauktik is then cooked.).The resultant formulation is called Sarvangsundar Ras.
