ABOUT

Certain plants which are dry in nature do not give desirable output quantity of fresh juice. In such cases the Swaras method is slightly modified. In this process the desired plant part is collected and broken down into fine pieces. The pieces are then arranged to form a bunch and covered with wheat dough to form a ball. A layer of clay is formed over the dough and the entire bunch is roasted in the fire. As the clay ball turns red hot it is removed and allowed to cool. On cooling the clay and wheat cvovering is removed and the inner plant contents are procured. This plantr bunch is then squeezed to procure juice. This modified method of procuring Swarass is called Putpaak in Ayurveda terminology.
