Raupya Bhasma (Method 2)

PREPARATION

Shudh (purified) Raupya is cut into small pieces. Hingul 2 times the quantity of Raupya is blended with fresh lime juice and the paste is applied to Raupya. Raupya pieces are then transferred to a hollow earthen vessel.On top of the vessel another earthen vessel is kept. This vessel-setup is known as Urdhvapatanyantra (refer glossary). The Urdhvapatanyantra is exposed to low flame.. The upper earthen vessel of the Urdhvapatanyantra is constantly covered with a wet cloth. After 4-5 hours the vessel is removed from the flame and cooled. On cooling the upper earthen vessel is carefully removed. Parad from the lower vessel which gets accumulated on the bottom of the upper vessel is collected.This Parad is considered excellent to be used for medicine. In the lower earthen vessel Raupya Bhasma is formed. Raupya Bhasma is collected and again mixed with mixture of Hingul and fresh lime juice and the process repeated again. Like this the process is repeated for 10 times(Put) after which Raupya Bhasma is collected.Raupya Bhasma so collected is them blended with Kumari Juice and rolled into a cake. The cake on drying is given 5-7 Gajput (refer glossary) to obtain soft, butter-like Raupya Bhasma which is stored for use.
