PREPARATION

Shudh (purified) Abrakh is processed in Ark- Ksheer (milky - latex) or Ark Patra Swaras (leaf juice) and the mixture rolled into a cake.On drying the mixture is transferred to an earthen vessel and given a Gajput (see glossary).The process is repeated 1000 times. Hence the Abrakh bhasma so obtained is called "1000 (Sahastraputi) puti Abrakh Bhasma".

NOTE

Aarogya Prakash has mentioned other herbs to process Shudh Abrakh with other than Ark-Ksheer. The list includes "Vat-Ksheer (Ficus benghalensis), Snuhi-Ksheer (Euphorbia sp)" etc.
