PREPARATION

Mandoor Bhasma 36 Tola is cooked in Go-Mutra(fresh cow's urine) 288 Tola till it forms a thick mixture. Loh Bhasma 4 Tola, Abrakh Bhasma 4 Tola, Tamra Bhasma 4 Tola, Trikatu Churn 3 Tola, Triphala Churn 3 Tola, Danti Mul (Mul == Root) 1 Tola, Chavya 1 Tola, Chitrak Mul 1 Tola, Krishna Jeerak 1 Tola, Haridra 1 Tola, Daruharidra 1 Tola, Trivrut 1 Tola, Aalook 1 Tola, Indrajav (Kutaj seeds are called Indrajav) 1 Tola, Kutki 1 Tola, Devdaru 1 Tola, Vacha 1 Tola and Musta(Nagar-Mustak variety) 1 Tola are grinded together and added to the Mandoor ball. The mixture is pounded till a uniform blend is achieved. This formulation is called Pandupanchanan Ras.

NOTE

  • Ras is synonym of Parad and any formulation which contains Parad in individual or compound form or as an ingredient of a compound formulation used is given a suffix "RAS". Pandupanchanan does not contain Parad even though it is denoted as Pandupanchanan Ras.

  • Abrakh Bhasma Shat(100)-puti must be used in preparation of Pandupanchanan Ras.
