Chandrakanti Ras

PREPARATION

Shudh (purified) Parad 1 Tola and Shudh Gandhak 1 Tola are blended together to form Kajjali. Swarn Bhasma 1 Tola, Raupya Bhasma 1 Tola, Swarn-Makshik Bhasma 1 Tola, Shudh Hartaal 1 Tola, Loh Bhasma 1 Tola, Kansya Bhasma 1 Tola, Abrakh Bhasma 1 Tola and Vang Bhasma 9 Tola are mixed with the Kajjali to form a fine blend. The mixture is given Bhavana (treatments) each of the following Bhavana-Dravya(Items used for treating the formulation); Kwaath prepared from Amra Twak (Twak == Bark),Amalaki Swaras, Kwaath prepared from Kulath, Lajjalu Swaras, Kwaath prepared from Vat and Shalmali Kand (Kand == Sap) Swaras; till a uniform blend is achieved. The mixture is processed with each of the Bhavana-Dravya for 3 days. The mixture is then weighed and the following items are added to the mixture in equal proportion to its weight; Jaatiphal, Lavang, Musta (Nagar-Mustak variety) , Twak, Ela and Jaatipatra (Leaves of Jaatiphal are known as Jaatipatra) to form a fine blend. This mixture is finally processed with Amalaki Swaras till a uniform blend is achieved. This formulation is known as Chandrakanti Ras.

NOTE

  • Abrakh Bhasma Shat(100)-puti must be used in preparation of Chandrakanti Ras.

  • Kajjali prepared in the above formulation must adhere or comply with the Kajjali preparation description and standards as mentioned in various Ayurveda treatise.(see glossary)

  • 1 Tola approx. 11gm
