Laxmivilas (Narayani / Naaradiya) Guti - Ingredient Details

NOTE

  • Laxmivilas Guti is often mistaken with Laxmivilas Ras mentioned by Yog-Ratnakar. Although both formulations are named similarly as Laxmivilas Ras they are entirely different formulations with respect to contents and medicinal properties. Hence to avoid confusion Laxmivilas Ras described by Bhaisajyaratnavalli is known as Laxmivilas Guti and one described by Yog-Ratnakar as Mahalaxmivilas Ras..

  • Laxmivilas Guti is also known as Narayani Laxmivilas as it contains Shatavari. Narayani is a synonym of Shatavari. This name is quite popular and helps avoid confusion as mentioned above.

  • Naaradiya Laxmivilas Ras is another synonym of this formulation.

  • Vinodlalsen in his commentary on Bhaisajyaratnavalli has described a slight modification in preparation of Laxmivilas Ras. Shatavari is not included and there is a slight difference in proportions of the rest of the ingredients.

  • Abrakh Bhasma Shat(100)-puti must be used in preparation of Narayani-Laxmivilas Ras.

  • 1 Tola approx. 11gm
