Poornachandra (Bruhat) Ras

PREPARATION

Shudh (purified) Parad 2 Tola and Shudh Gandhak 2 Tola are blended together to form Kajjali. Loh Bhasm 4 Tola, Abrakh Bhasma 4 Tola, Raupya Bhasma 2 Tola, Vang Bhasma 2 Tola, Swarn Bhasma 1 Tola, Tamra Bhasma 1 Tola, Kansya Bhasma 1 Tola, Jaatiphal 1 Tola, Lavang 1 Tola, Ela 1 Tola, Jeerak 1 Tola, Twak 1 Tola, Karpoor 1 Tola, Priyangu Pushp(Pushp == Flower) 1 Tola and Musta (Nagar-Mustak variety) 1 Tola are added to the Kajjali. The Kajjali mixture is given 1 Bhavana (treatment) each with the following Bhavana-Dravya(Items used for treating the formulation) Kumari Swaras, Triphala Kwaath and Erand Mul (Mul == Root) Swaras; till a uniform blend is achieved. Bruhat-Poornachandra Ras is then rolled into a ball and covered with an Erand Patra (Patra == Leaf) which is tied with a string and stored in a Dhanyaraashi (Dhanyaraashi == A vessel or sack stored with grains like rice, wheat etc.) for 3 days. Bruhat-Poornachandra Ras is then rolled into tablets each measuring 1Gunj (see glossary).

NOTE

  • Kajjali prepared in the above formulation must adhere or comply with the Kajjali preparation description and standards as mentioned in various Ayurveda treatise.(see glossary)

  • Abrakh Bhasma Shat(100)-puti must be used in preparation of Bruhat-Poornachandra Ras.

  • 1 Tola approx. 11gm

  • 1Gunj approx. 125mg
  • <
