Loh(Tikshna, Kant, Mund Loh) Bhasma (Method 3)

PREPARATION

Shudh( purified) Loh (any three varieties) coarse-powder is blended with juice procured from an unripe Tinduk fruit for an entire day. After treating it with Tinduk fruit juice , Loh powder is treated with Triphala-Kwaath (decoction) and given Agniput (refer glossary).This process is repeated 3times (3 Agniput). Similarly after treatment with Triphala-Kwaath Loh Bhasma is given 3 Agniput each by blending with Bhringraaj juice followed by Kantakari juice respectively to obtain red-coloured Loh Bhasma

NOTE

To test if Loh Bhasma is prepared correctly small amount of the end-product must be sprinkled over a cut Amalki (Phyllanthus emblica, Avala,Gooseberry) fruit. If the fruit pulp turns black then the Loh Bhasm is not correctly formed and can create health-problems. Correctly formed Loh Bhasma has no effect on Amalki pulp.
