Agnitundi Ras

PREPARATION

Shudh (purified) Parad 1 Tola and Shudh Gandhak 1 Tola are blended together to form Kajjali (refer glossary). Ajmoda 1 Tola, Haritaki Phal 1 Tola,Amalaki Phal 1 Tola, Bibhitak 1 Tola, Sajji-Kshaar 1 Tola, Yav-Kshaar 1 Tola, Chitrak 1 Tola, Saindhav Lavan 1 Tola, Jeerak 1 Tola, Saurvichal Lavan 1 Tola, Vidang 1 Tola, Sunth 1 Tola, Marich Phal(Phal == Fruit) 1 Tola, Pipali 1 Tola are finely powdered and added to the Kajjali. Shudh Kuchala in equal proportion to the entire mixture is added and the mixture is given Bhavana (treatment) with Jambeer Swaras (fresh lime juice) for 3 days.This formulation is called Agnitundi Ras. Agnitundi Ras is dried and rolled into tablets each measuring 1Gunj (see glossary).

NOTE

  • Kajjali prepared in the above formulation must adhere or comply with the Kajjali preparation description and standards as mentioned in various Ayurveda treatise.(see glossary)

  • Sixteen other treatise including Bhaisajyaratnavalli have mentioned the preparation of Agnitundi Ras. The methods are identical.

  • 1 Tola approx. 11gm

  • 1Gunj approx 125mg
