PREPARATION

Shudh (purified) Hingul 1 Tola is pounded to form coarse powder. Shudh Vatsanabh 1 Tola, Shudh Tankan 1 Tola, Shunthi 1 Tola, Jaatiphal 1 Tola, Marich Phal (Phal == Fruit) 2 Tola and Pippali Phal 2 Tola are finely powdered and mixed with Hingul. The mixture is treated with Jambeer Swaras. This formulation is called Anandbhairav Ras. Anandbhairav Ras on drying is rolled into tablets each measuring 1Gunj (see glossary) .

  • Anandbhairav Ras is prepared in different ways with different ingredients for a variety of disorders. It is generally used to treat Jwar (Pyrexia), Atisaar (Disorders associated with Diarrhea) and Kaas (Respiratory infections associated with coughing). Aarogyaprakash and Rasendrasarsangrah have described the present formulation to predominantly treat Jwar (Pyrexia)
