Vaatkulantak Ras

PREPARATION

Shudh (purified) Parad 1 Tola and Shudh Gandhak 1 Tola are blended together to form Kajjali. Kasturi 1 Tola is mixed with the Kajjali and the mixture is processed in Brahmi Swaras for 1Prahar till a uniform blend is achieved. Shudh Mansheel 1 Tola, Naagkeshar 1 Tola, Bibhitak 1 Tola, Jaatiphal 1 Tola, Ela 1 Tola and Lavang 1 Tola are mixed with the Kajjali-Kasturi mixture to form a fine blend. The mixture is processed in Brahmi Swaras for 1 day till a uniform blend is achieved. This formulation is known as Vaatkulantak Ras.

NOTE

  • The plant Brahmi is confused for different species. Hence both the two prominent species Centella asiatica Linn. and Bacopa monnieri Linn. are used by certain Vaidyas while preparing Vaatkulantak Ras

  • Kajjali prepared in the above formulation must adhere or comply with the Kajjali preparation description and standards as mentioned in various Ayurveda treatise.(see glossary)

  • 1 Tola approx. 11gm

  • 1Prahar approx 3 hours.
