PROCESS

Peetal pieces are heated till they turns red-hot. The red-hot pieces are then immediately soaked in a mixture prepared from Nirgundi Swaras(see glossary) and Haridra Churn(see glossary).The process of heating and dipping is carried out 7 times to obtain Shudh (purified) Peetal.

NOTE

  • The mixture prepared from Nirgundi and Haridra must not be a thick paste but more of a liquid. Hence Haridra Churna must be used in relatively low amounts as compared to Nirgundi Swaras.

  • It is a general rule followed by healers to use fresh mediums for dipping the element to be purified each time the process is repeated even if not mentioned in the reference
