Hartaal Purification (Method 1)
PROCESS
Hartaal is broken into fine pieces. The pieces are transferred in a muslin cloth and tied to form a poultice. This poultice is cooked in Kushmand Swaras(see glossary) with help of a Dolayantra (see glossary) for 2 Prahar (see glossary). The inner content of poultice are then procured and cleaned with warm water. The cleaned Hartaal pieces are transferred to a earthen vessel. The empty portion of the Hartaal containing earthen vessel is filled with Jambeer Swaras and the mixture is kept undisturbed for an entire day. The next day, Jambeer swars is removed and replaced by fresh Jambeer Swaras and the mixture kept undisturbed for another day. Likewise the process is repeated for 7 days after which, Hartaal pieces are washed with warm water and allowed to dry to obtain Shudh (purified) Hartaal.
