Plant Description


A tree. Stem armed with prickles. Leaves trifoliolate, deciduous. Leaflets broad, ovate or rhomboid-ovate, nearly as long as broad. Inflorescence raceme, appearing after the fall of leaves. Flowers bright scarlet red. Pod stalked, torulose, 6-8 seeded. Seeds sub-reni-form, brown. A common tree in forest areas and also along walls of private compounds.

Flowering and Fruting:March - June.
