Plant Description


A scandent shrub, 1-3 meter tall. Branches slender. Leaves unifoliate. Petioles 6-25 mm long,pubescent. Stipules scarious. Leaflets ovate-oblong, acute. Inflorescence axillary and terminal, simple or branched racemes. Flowers closely arranged along slender pubescent, zigzag rachis. Bracts large, 15-25 mm long, membranous, orbicular-ovate, shortly stalked, reticulately veined, folded, each enclosing 2 or more small flowers. Corolla white. Pods oblong completely concealed by the bracts. Seeds 1-2, dark-brown.

Flowering & Fruiting Period: November – December.
