Plant Description
An erect annual. Stem stiff, cylindric, striate. Leaves variable in sliape, broadly-elliptic or lanceolate, irregularly toothed. Heads small, in lax, divaricate, terminal corymbs with minute linear bract beneath each head and at the forks of peduncle. Florets pinkish-violet. Involucre bracts linear-lanceolate, awned, silky on the back. Achenes oblong, non-ribbsd, narrowed at the base, clothed with oppressed .white hairs. Pappus white, outer row short.
