Mahamrugaank Ras

PREPARATION

Swarn Bhasma 1 Tola, Rassindoor 2 Tola, Mauktik Bhasma 3 Tola,Shudh (purified) Gandhak 4 Tola, Swarn-Makshik Bhasma 5 Tola, Raupya Bhasma 4 Tola, Praval Bhasma 7 Tola and Shudh Tankan 2 Tola are mixed together to form a fine blend. The mixture is given 3Bhavana (treatment) of Jambeer Swaras for 3 days till a uniform blend is achieved. The mixture is rolled into a cake and transferred to an earthen vessel. Another earthen vessel is placed over it and both the vessels are sealed with clay and mud. The entire setup is placed in a Lavan Yantra. The Lavan Yantra is exposed to flames for 4Prahar.On cooling the inner contents of the earthen vessel is procured and grinded to forma fine paste. The entire mixture is weighed and Vajra Bhasma (1/64 the weight of mixture) is thoroughly mixed and stored. This formulation is called Mahamrugaank Ras

NOTE

  • Ayurvedsarsangrah advocates the use of Vaikrantmani Bhasma if Vajra Bhasma is unavailable. However its proportion recommended is 1/16 the combined weight of the Lavan Yantra cooked mixture.

  • Kajjali prepared in the above formulation must adhere or comply with the Kajjali preparation description and standards as mentioned in various Ayurveda treatise.(see glossary)
