PREPARATION
Shudh (purified) Parad 1part and Shudh Gandhak 1part are blended together to form Kajjali (refer glossary). Shunthi 1part, Marich Phal(Phal == Fruit) 1part, Shudh Tankan 1part and Shudh Jaypal 3part are finely powdered and mixed with Kajjali. The mixture is processed in Jambeer Swaras and dried. This formulation is called Ichabhedi Ras. On drying Ichabhedi Ras is rolled into tablets each measuring 2Gunj (see glossary).

- Kajjali prepared in the above formulation must adhere or comply with the Kajjali preparation description and standards as mentioned in various Ayurveda treatise.(see glossary)
- The above preparation method of Ichabhedi Ras is also mentioned in the treatise, Rasendrasarsangrah.
- Eighteen different methods of preparation of Ichabhedi Ras are found in various Ayurveda treatise. The ingredients although constant, most of the formulations vary on their proportions especially Jaypal. These variations are specifically seen in the treatise, Raschandanshu. Yogratnakar's method of preparation is widely used.
