Traylokyachintamani Ras

PREPARATION

Shudh (purified) Parad 1 Tola and Shudh Gandhak 1 Tola are blended together to form Kajjali. Vajra Bhasma 1 Tola, Swarn Bhasma 1 Tola, Raupya Bhasma 1 Tola, Tamra Bhasma 1 Tola, Tikshna-Loh Bhasma 1 Tola, Abrakh Bhasma 1 Tola, Praval Bhasma 1 Tola, Mauktik Bhasma 1 Tola, Shankh Bhasma 1 Tola, Shudh Hartaal 1 Tola and Shudh Mansheel 1 Tola are mixed to form a fine blend which is then added to the Kajjali. The Kajjali mixture is then treated 3 days each with following Bhavana-Dravya(Items used for treating the formulation); Ark Ksheer (Ksheer == milky latex), Nirgundi Swaras, Suran Swaras, and finally Snuhi Ksheer. The mixture is then carefully filled inside Shudh Kapardik (Pitt-Kapardik or Yellow variety of Kapardik is used) pieces which are then sealed with a paste prepared from Ark Ksheer and Shudh Tankan. The sealed Kapardik pieces are then transferred to an earthen vessel. The vessel is covered with another earthen vessel. Both the vessels are sealed with clay and given a Gajput (see glossary). On cooling the Kapardik pieces are pounded to forma fine powder. Parad Bhasma in equal proportion to the weight of Kapardik powder and Vaikrant Bhasma in 1/4th the proportion of added Parad Bhasma is mixed with the Kapardik mixture to form a fine blend. The resultant mixture is then given 7 Bhavana with Shobanjan Mul (Mul == Root) Swaras, 21 Bhavana with Kwaath prepared from Chitrak Mul, 7 Bhavana with Aradrak Swaras and finally 7 Bhavana with Jambeer or Matuling Swaras till a uniform blend is achieved. The following ingredients are then added to the mixture; Shudh Tankan (1/4th the proportion of Kapardik mixture), Shudh Vatsanabh (1/4th the proportion of Kapardik mixture), Marich Churn (1/4th the proportion of Kapardik mixture), Lavang Churn (1/4th the proportion of Shudh Vatsanabh), Shunthi Churn (1/4th the proportion of Shudh Vatsanabh), Haritaki Churn (1/4th the proportion of Shudh Vatsanabh), Pippali Churn (1/4th the proportion of Shudh Vatsanabh) and Jaatiphal Churn (1/4th the proportion of Shudh Vatsanabh). The resultant mixture is given 1 Bhavana with Matuling Swaras and finally Aradrak Swaras till a uniform blend is achieved. The final preparation is called Traylokyachintamani Ras.

NOTE

  • Kajjali prepared in the above formulation must adhere or comply with the Kajjali preparation description and standards as mentioned in various Ayurveda treatise.(see glossary)

  • Traylokyachintamani Ras preparation is described in 3 - 4 different methods through the Ayurveda literature. Of these the above one described by Yog-Ratnakar is popularly used.
