Rasmanikya

TREATISE

GLOSSARY

PREPARATION

Shudh(purified) Hartaal pieces are pounded to coarse powder. The Hartaal powder is transferred to an earthen vessel which is half- filled with Shudh Abrakh pieces. Hartaal powder is placed on the bed of Abrakh pieces. The remaining open portion of the earthen vessel is again filled with Abrakh pieces. Another earthen vessel is placed upside down over the Abrakh-Hartaal containing earthen vessel. Both the vessels are sealed with clay/mud. The earthen vessel is roasted in fire prepared by burning wood procured from Badar plant. The idea is to give fire to the vessel till Abrakh pieces turn red-hot. On cooling the seal is broken and the inner red-coloured formulation is procured which is ground to fine powder and stored. This formulation is called Rasmanikya.
