ABOUT

The classical Ayurveda plant Snuhi is co-related to the genus Euphorbia botanically. A scan of Ayurveda literature describes differnt varieties of Snuhi depending on the serrations found on its branches. Panchdhaari (Five) , Tridhaari (Three), Saptdhaari(Seven) etc. However as per description found in the Charak Samhita generally two main varieties are commonly discussed; AlpaKantak (This variety has less thorns hence called Alpa==less, Kantak==thorns) and Bahukantak (This variety has many thorns hence known as Bahu==many and Kantak==thorns). Bahukantak-Snuhi is described as being best amongst the two varieties. The species popularly accepted or highly matching both the described varities have been enumerated.
