The Ayurveda term Kalka implies to fresh paste prepared from plant/plants used as internal or external medicine. The desired plant parts are collected and washed clean. Th plant parts are then crushed into fine pices and blended together to form a paste. Generally Kalka is used to prepare medicated oils and ghee (clarified butter) where the paste is boiled in the base to obtain the product. Apart from that Kalka is also used externally.
