Loh Rasayan

PREPARATION

Shudh (purified) Parad 1 Tola and Shudh Gandhak 2 Tola are blended together to form Kajjali. Loh Bhasm 3 Tola, is added to the Kajjali and the mixture is grinded for 1Prahar till a fine blend is formed. The Kajjali mixture is given Bhavana (treatment) of Kumari Swaras for 3 days till a uniform blend is achieved. The mixture is then rolled into a ball and sandwiched between 2 Tamra pieces (Patra == Leaf) which is tied with a string and stored in a Dhanyaraashi (Dhanyaraashi == A vessel or sack stored with grains like rice, wheat etc.) for 3 days. The mixture is then procured and given 3 Bhavana with the following Bhavana-Dravya; VanTulasi Swaras, Trikatu Kwaath, Vasa Swaras, Guduchi Swaras and Kwaath prepared from Chitrak; till a uniform blend is achieved. The mixture is transferred in a iron vessel and given 3Bhavana each with the following Bhavana-Dravya; Triphala Kwaath, Nirgundi Swaras, Dadim Twak (Twak == Bark) Swaras, Kamal Swaras, Bhringraaj Swaras, Palash Twak Swaras, Kadali Kand(Kand == Sap) Swaras, Kwaath prepared from Beejak, Neelini Swaras, Mundi Swaras, Babool Swaras, Shatavari Swaras, Kwaath prepared from Gokshur and Kwaath prepared from Chilhint; till a uniform blend is achieved. This formulation is called Loh Rasayan.
