Kumari

ABOUT

Kumari and GhritKumari are tow names described in the classical Ayurveda texts. These names are accepted as synonyms by various scholars/authors. However a scan of available literature and certain ethnomedical studies indicate these to be individual plant species. Kumari as per descriptions in Ayurveda texts is co-related to the Genus Aloe. However many speciesunder these genus have been historically evaluated for the source of the classical plant Kumaari. The two highly discussed taxons have been enumerated. Both these taxons can be accepted as the source of Kumari.
